For the money and portability, this little tuning device works great. You do have to be careful how much pressure you are using, so not to pick up base material, but my racer loves the tune I can give to his skis while traveling! Buy an extra file insert, and don't forget the diamond / ceramic inserts that will make this an incredible tool for your tuning box. A MUST HAVE!!

I own MANY tuning tools- 3 complete kits in fact. This is a GREAT tool if you only have one tool. I have others that I use more when I'm working on a lot of skis, but this tool travels with me everyday. It isn't fancy but it just plain WORKS!!

Not my favorite tuner. It has a small 4 inch file that cuts well but needs very frequent cleaning, every four or five strokes. This file guide also leaves strips on the ski base from the four or five plastic parts that provide the sliding onto the ski base. I would recomend spending a little more and finding a better file guide.
