What type of equipment do I need for rollerskiing?

Other than the rollerskis and poles (carbide road tips or ferrules preferred over regular snow baskets), you will need a bike helmet and gloves (Toko makes a rollerski glove).

A helmet and pair of gloves are STRONGLY recommended. Some skiers add elbow, wrist, and knee pads, but that is up to the skier. Keep in mind, all rollerskiers will fall at least once during their road ski careers, so it's wise to be safe.

As stated previously, rollerskis come without bindings or speed reducers, so you'll need to purchase a set of bindings to match your x-c ski boots (please, no 3-Pin's!). Speed reducers are mechanisms that can be added to the front of each ski. They have an adjusting device that applies pressure against the wheel, allowing the skier to "dial-in" a certain speed.

If you are a first-timer, or will use your skis on hilly terrain, speed reducers are recommended (2 are needed). Speed reducers are available only for the V2 rollerskis at this time..
